Try not to fiddle with it to much. They are a pain until you can figure them out. If you are continually trying to adjust it, it will never settle out. I use many of them, but never put an egg in one until I get the temps settled. Place bags of sand or jars of water in the bator. Let is set over night, check the temp. Touchy, so if it is off a little, adjust it and go to work. When you get home check it and make any small adjustments. When you can leave it for a couple of days and see no temp lower than 98 or higher than 101, you will have it right. Place the eggs in the bator and between 19 and 22 days later you will have lettle fuzzy butts. The small spikes you might see are when the heat kicks in or is going off. This is NOT the temp on the inside of the egg.
