what breeds are mainly white? we were given 8, 5 week old chicks from the local elementary school and have no idea the breeds. one of them is snow white with black flecks (she looks like someone took a paintbrush and dipped it in black paint and then delicately just flecked around her wing tips and tail...a few on her body, but mainly wings and tail) and very exotic black liner around her eyes, very cleopatraish

. i'm pretty sure she is a she as her comb is very light. it also seems to be flat. i don't know what that is called, a rose comb maybe? she has feathers on her feet as well. she's very very beautiful and very sweet!

any ideas on breeds with those general markings? thanks!!

The one with feathered feet and a rose comb sounds like a Light Brahma -very pretty.

Other all-white breeds include Cornish, Leghorn, White Orpington, White Rock, White Giants, White Wyandottes... Looking forward to the pics, they're sure to help.

Congrats on getting the chickens!

oh!! the light brahmas look very close to what she's feathering out to....so do the Columbian Wyandottes, except they don't have feathers on their feet and legs...so i'm guessing a light brahma! so exciting..

delaware looks close too, except for the lack of leg and feet feathers...i'm sure she is a mixed breed. she was hatched at an elementary school in an incubator..
