White comb tips- possible frost bite? Please help!

Yes, I agree, I don’t put anything on combs to prevent it or to treat it. I have seen some tips become rounded off on a few roosters with large combs during near zero weather. I would just make sure there is overhead ventilation so moisture can escape, prevent drafts, prevent them from roosting on metal or getting feet wet during freezing weather, and hope for the best. January and February are the worst months for frostbite here, and I am in southern OH.

I'm a new chicken momma, too, and 2 of my girls got frostbite during our first really cold snap this winter. I felt terrible. With one, the little black tips on her floppy comb shriveled and fell off. Now she looks great! Totally healed. The other pullet's comb is more like yours -- white/tan edges but no black or yellowing. It has been like that for almost 8 weeks with no change. She seems fine -- eating, drinking and laying. So I've been taking the advice of aart and Eggcessive to just let it all be. Seems like it is unavoidable in cold climates, even with all the best efforts. It is what it is.
