Hey guys, I've been raising chickens since around this time last year. I started with some day old Golden Campines which lay medium to large white eggs. Earlier this year I got some straight run Black Australorps from TSC. Up until a few weeks ago, I thought they were all hens, but now that they've matured, two of them have started growing spurs and breeding with my Golden Campine hens. Now I've got 3 broody hens sitting on fertilized eggs. I'm just curious, since the Black Austorlorps lay brown eggs and my Golden Campines lay white eggs is there any guessing what the babies will lay?

The most likely resulst is they will lay some variation of light brown.....the shading of which will vary from one hatched pullet to the next.

I have an ameraucana rooster that I bred with white egg layers & Brown egg layers. The white & green mixed hens lay blue & the brown & green mixed hens lay olive. I'm going to mix my olive layers with my chocolate welsummer rooster next in hopes for a reddish. Careful! The mixing becomes addicting, lol. Like egg painting.

Nice, thanks for the info guys. I was hoping it would be a mixing of the two, but wasn't certain.
