New to peafowl forum. I have a 3 years old purple white eye (single factored-about 10-15 white eyes in the center of the ocilli) male split to white. If I pair him with a 2 years old purple pied hen, Can I expect any silverpied chicks ? If not what do I get. Appreciate your expert opinion.

No silver pieds.

U will get puple, purple w/e, some split pied, some split white.

edit to add ...just saw were he is split white in that case you will get some purple pied, and purple pied w/e

Thanks deerman. Since both parents have white gene, I thought that we can expect some white chicks also. Pl. Correct me. Thanks

Yes, you will get white offspring. But as deerman has explained to me in the past, these white offspring will in fact be purple, but will not show it because the white masks all colours and patterns.

correct i had missed the male being split white , so had to edit my reply

Thanks Arbor. Now, If we pair up this white male (actually purple being erased by white) with any sex linked color hen, do we get" purple split to white hens"?

a white male(purple) x purple hen = purple split white both sexs
a white male(purple x non sex link(say blue hens)= purple females , blue males , both split white ,males also split purple.

Thanks deerman. I was skeptical about it. Now You have confirmed. Chat with you on another thread. Thanks a lot
