This hen is becoming one of my favorites. I hatched her in the incubator earlier in the year. I've never had a single white chicken in my flock.
The hen that laid the egg this gal hatched from was a mixed bantam (silkie/OEGB and ???) crossed with a standard EE rooster. She looked like an EE with black skin and feathered legs and she was a pretty golden color, the egg was pinkish that this hen pictured hatched from.
This gal below has changed so much since she hatched, her beak keeps getting bluer and bluer, her ears nearly turquoise and now her comb is getting redder and redder! She sure is interesting.
I guess she's got some white-black masked silkie in her genetics somewhere?
