My friend has two pullets that are almost identical. One is clearly a white giant and the two have tracked very close— same scale, comb and body type and general look.
there are two differences the one we have IDd as white giant has all the charateristics— black eye, willow legs and yellow foot bottoms.
the other is slightly grey in color— it seems less so as it ages with darker legs and the foot bottom color is the same as the leg— a darkish slate grey.
could they both be white giants or is the darker one something else and if so whats your guess.
thankfully they are pullets and I may get one if they are both giants.
they came in a mixed batch of large breeds from murray mcmurray
sorry no pictures — maybe tomorrow?

oh the eye color on that second bird is not black— its a yellow hazel sort of normal eye

I know Jersey Black Giants have black legs and the foot pads are yellow. Are the Whites supposed to have willow legs? I didn't know that.

edited for clarity.

from the breed section.

and thus the question.

anyone recognize this trait?

re ausralop: That could be an option , but as theres not a white through the links Im still in a quandry.Mc Murray lists the black and not the white. can anyone show me these feet or confirm that it miight be a white aust?

THANKS

sorry here is the section from breeds:

The legs will have some coloring on them, but it may not reach the toes. This is common, and the color will fill in as the bird matures. From the beginning, all colors should have dark brown to black eyes and yellow bottoms to their feet. Dark chicks may have pale beaks with streaks of color. These too will darken with age.

black chick = black adult --black with slate overtone shanks and feet, black beak
blue chick = blue adult -- slate shanks and feet, black beak
pale blue = splash adult -- slate shanks and feet, beak may vary
smoky = white adult -- willow shanks and feet, yellow beak

If you're simply looking for photos of White Giants feet, here you are:

A helpful bit that would help is the color of the beak. What color is the beak on the "question" bird?
