In my opinion, it'll be a lil while longer for your bird. that comb is still very small for a leghorn. let that baby get a lil floppy and then start asking! ha
I agree..too young yet to lay, from my limited experience with one leghorn. My hens combs/wattles were floppy, red, huge, and she just looked older...it will happen....

This was when she was in time out for not playing nice with the other chickens. She was laying at this time though.
My Pearl isn't laying either. She's about 16 weeks also, but she's no where near ready or close. I still have her on grower finisher until she actually looks ready to lay. She's a white leghorn also, and she's my fav Hen.
Hey guys! In one day my Leghorns will be 18 weeks and i am disappointing I have no eggs yet. I heard you guys saying that they lay at age 16 weeks. There come and wattles are red but just starting to grow a little bigger not even flopping over or anything. Thoughts? Thanks!
