I got up this morning and checked on my babies and one of my leghorn babies was dead. I am not sure if it was one of my cockerels or a pullet. I just got the chicks friday from Hoover hatchery. It did not have pasty butt but it had acted funny since friday morning since I got it. I know this sounds awful but it was flat as a pancake. does anyone have any idea why this chick died. All it would do is stand there with its little eyes closed I had to make it drink but then it perked up and ate and drunk on its own. It just doesn't make sence to me. Out of my last order from Ideal I had one that done the same thing but it lived to be a week old and did not start out like this one.
