White Leghorn question

I bought two DNA-sexed white leghorn chicks at 8 weeks of age. As they grew, they developed very differently. One is much larger than the other and has a broader body and a fan-shaped tail as viewed from the rear. The smaller one has a narrow body, a larger comb and an upright tail similar to what is shown in the breed photos on this site. I had been thinking that possibly the smaller chicken was actually a rooster until I caught "him" laying an egg today. So, my question is, does this breed really have that much variation between individuals or is one of these chickens likely not a pure leghorn?

No idea. Usually, the chicks are DNA-sexed in the factory that supplies them. If you wanted to have your own hatchlings sexed, I wouldn't even know how to do that. Maybe someone else can help.

I can sex white leghorn at hatch.... the Males have HUGE combs for their age, hens will eventually grow Huge combs too but not as fast or as early as the boys

I only have 2, but they are pretty much identical in every way. They have big, floppy combs and slender bodies with upright tails. Could you post a picture of the bird in question?

I started with 25 white leghorn hens, but am down to only two now, but both of mine are pretty identical...slender bodies & floppy combs. I would venture to guess one is not pure if there's that much of a difference.
