Hello i was wondering exacty what to look for in a day old chick to see if its a rooster or a hen?
i recently picked up some fertilized eggs that i was told were from a White leghorn rooster mied with a rhode island red hen and i had 2 eggs out of 4 hatch and im trying to figure out the sex of the birds! if anyone can help i would greatly appreciate it.
My chicks more of a yellow/silverish/whiteish with 2 darker spots on both if that helps! I really dont want to try to vent them!
Thanks

Vent sexing is best attempted by professionals that have training and years of experience (and even they can sometimes be wrong). Give your chicks some time to mature, you'll know in a few weeks if they are girls or boys. Just enjoy them for now.

It's too early to tell the gender now, but in a few weeks you will. In birds with large single combs, you can sometimes see signs appear around 3 weeks. At that point, the "What breed/gender is this?" section will be helpful!

Enjoy your babies!
