White Leghorn standing on one foot + one black toenail

I noticed my white leghorn standing on one leg repeatedly this morning. It was a cold night last night (in the 40s), so maybe keeping warm? She and the others are 8.5 weeks old. The odd thing is that she has one small, black toenail on that foot, so I'm wondering if that is connected in some way? This toenail isn't growing and is dark. The others are white and much longer. Is she just cold or is there something else going on?

It looks as if she has somehow ripped off the outer sheath on that toe. It is probably somewhat painful to her.
