I was given an 8 week old chick. Is it a white leghorn?

It's either a White Leghorn or a White Plymouth Rock. If it is a White Rock, it's earlobes will turn red. If they stay white, it is a White Leghorn.

It looks more like a white rocks than a leghorn. Leghorns tend to be very slender and have a more upright carriage to them. Yours seems a bit stocky for a leghorn.

I would say White Rock. Two years ago I got five free white pullet chicks. They were supposed to be all White Leghorns. But by 8 weeks old, only two were Leghorns, one a roo, one hen and the other three were White Rocks. They are great layers and real tame.
