I know white leghons are a continental bird but can they be kept in England where the
temperature does not really go into minus degree ( I know about vaseline on the floppy comb)

I agree with the above posters. I think they would do well in England. We're not quite as cold here in NC as some, but mine has done just fine this winter. As long as you have some shelter/housing where they are protected from wind, rain, snow and it's dry, you should be fine.
