Welcome to BYC!

Never heard of this breed. Are you talking about White Leghorn Chickens? They are wild crazy chickens. LOL We had them when I was growing up and wow, just wild birds!!

I don't recommend them for anything other than eggs and meat. If you work with them as babies, sometimes you can really tame them down.

Good luck in all you do in life and welcome to our flock!

Welcome to BYC! White Leghorns are egg laying machines, but they are high strung and flighty (mine always screamed bloody murder whenever I handled them). If you want calm, gentle hens that are also egg laying machines (and don't mind brown eggs), I would suggest Black Sex Links (Black Stars), or if you want to breed a standard breed (Sex Links are hybrids), I would recommend Black Australorps. They are very hardy and friendly and are the best brown egg layers of the pure breeds. Whatever you decide to get, good luck on your flock.

Welcome to BYC. Leghorns come in many colors and varieties, but all have the same BEAUTIFUL conformation and are excellent producers of large white eggs. They can be somewhat flighty, but this helps them to be somewhat predator evasive. You may have guessed they are my favorite breed of chickens.

Sounds like you have tamed your white leghorns - just don't give to much treat or they will ignore their nutritionally balanced feed that they need to stay healthy.
