My Guinea Keets were completely wild and untame despite daily handling and a lot of interaction. That was until I introduced meal worms! They go absolutely bonkers for meal worms. Within a few days of introducing them as treats, my keets now eat out of my hands, and come running toward me when they know I'm coming. I'm also ringing a cow bell every time I bring treats so they associate the sound with something great. My hope is that I can use this to call them to their coop at night when they're free ranging adults. I have also introduced white millet but for some reason they aren't they least bit interested. I wonder if it's because they're too young? They're just about 11-12 days old.

Mealworms..hmmmm... I'm going to try that. My keets are 6 weeks old and love grass clippings I bring to them daily but will not get near me even though I do this every day while blowing a whistle. I have millet and they could care less about it. I think I'll get some mealworms.
Thanks. :)

For my guineas it took them a little while to decide millet was good. They never even paid it any mind for weeks on end and then one day, they went nuts over it. Now they can't get enough. I've never even thought to try meal worms... great idea!
