An update on the Gilman Orpingtons.. here they are around 4 weeks old.. unfortunately, several of them have SERIOUSLY blue legs. I have been told that I can still work with this "defect" however I may choose not to because I honestly just don't like the way it looks (note in particular blue/green legs on the white chick on the right side)
and a couple of closeups of some cuties:
here are some of them frolicking today in a temporary run at 6 weeks:
TODAY... arrived the next 25 whites plus 1 male packing peanut (22 pullets & 4 cockerels), these from McMurray Hatchery.. all looking very different as chicks in comparison to the first group, no blue legs anywhere in the lot. They do seem to have 3 different types of markings, all healthy sturdy and acting great.
