Someone brought me a small bird after she rescued it from a busy street. I've been keeping it in a cage inside my house, and I'm pretty sure it's a white partridge. I'm including a photo for confirmation.

I'm not going to put it in with my chickens and ducks per the other threads on here discussing illnesses, how wet ducks are, etc. She doesn't seem injured. I'm going to get her higher protein feed since all I have is layer pellets and corn. I like having her in the house but can't find any info on keeping her as a pet and what kind of cage she should be in (high off the floor like a parakeet, on the ground like I'd keep an injured chicken?). I put in some small branches but she doesn't seem to want to perch. I also would like to get her a pal but I don't know if it would work out (e.g. if they would fight) and can't even find any breeders, etc. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Partridges don't perch like chickens. If you're going to keep it in a cage make sure the cage is long width wise not high like how you get parrot cages. sometimes two opposite genders will fight each other if you introduce a new Partridge to the already one you have ime. If you would like to get another Partridge with it introduce them slowly such as putting them in two separate cages so they can see each other and get used to each others presence. Oh and don't get another same gender Partridge as they will never get on with eachother. Hope that helps.
