White peafowl gender

I'm with you on that one, we have white pea's that go from 3 years old (the oldest) to about a year 1/2. Watching some of them grow from chicks I couldn't tell 100% until they were coming up on a year. Ours come from 2 breeders and the legs are different. The ones we got from
Brad Legg are shorter legged

than the ones we got from Iona McCormick.

Yep Steve,
Those 4 white chicks Sid brought me last year, just got to where you could sex them by looks, 100% at least. At 6-8 months, I was sure it was 2 pr, but it's obvious now that I got lucky, just 1 male and 3 females, he finally got some legs to him this summer

also, those javas I got from you last year, finally figured them out, 2 males, 6 hens!!
and the imperators I got from Charles Hill, 1 male 3 females!!

My luck usually doesnt work that well, 90% of the time, they'd all been male, LOL

but, it's took a full year for me to be about to tell without a doubt on all of those, I've had suspicions, but they all turned out to be wrong on some of them
Pretty much 1 year on all greens and white to be sure, anything else is just guessing.

By the way, that pied boy you sent me is going to something else too! Cant wait to see him in full color, has excellent patterning already, now I just need some of those pied spauldings!

Yea, Me too didn't hatch a single one this year, you know I held that real nice pair back for myself as back up breeders and that ol' boy offered me a lot $$$$ for that pair of yearling Spalding Pieds and like a dummy I sold them and I haven't hatched a thing from my breeders since.
