I hatched eggs in my classroom this year and ordered the breeds I’d like to keep. I only had one White Plymouth Rock egg and it hatched! But I’m pretty sure it’s a rooster. He is 3 weeks old and already has a big comb that is turning and waddles coming in. First time chicken owner here, so I know you generally have to wait and see but what do y’all think? Pretty sure one of my Australorps is a roo too because of the comb size but I’ve read they are hard to tell apart until 3-4 months?
I’m sad because we can’t keep roosters in the city. Hoping to find land soon so I can keep them. Thanks y’all!

The White Rock is a cockerel. It is still very early for the Australorps. The first one looks a bit suspicious. Post updated pics when they are 6 weeks old.

You can tell gender as early as 4 weeks on some chickens, I'd say the rock is definitely a cockerel and I'm leaning towards the same on the Australorp.
😭 Me too. The White Rock is sassy but the Australorp is my fav. He is so so sweet and likes to get pets from me.
