I bought white rock chicks (and more) from McMurray Hatchery. They have never had orange legs. I would have assumed by now they should have orange legs at 7 weeks of age. Are these poor hatchery quality? Are they something other than white rocks?

I think Murray McMurray has a good reputation for high quality birds, from what I know. I know the males are supposed to have more yellowy-orange legs than the females, so at least there might be some reassurance in that!

I wouldn't worry too much about the leg color unless you are planning on showing them. I still think they are White Rocks, but I guess there is always a possibility of them being a different breed. They might continue to get more yellow as they age, so keep us posted on that!
