Hello everyone, I hatched out some White Silkie eggs and most of the chicks have light feet but have the black skin throughout their body, just not their feet? They have the walnut comb, 5 toes and the feathers on the last toe. I will attach some pics of the chick and the parent stock. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I'm not a silkie person, unfortunately, did the seller have any closer pictures of the birds?
Nope, but they do meet breed standard. Blue earlobes, 5 toes, blueish black skin, mulberry wattles and pure white colour. I'm not sure what went wrong because they hatched out 18 chicks this month as well and all have black feet. Silkies genetics are so difficult to understand so Im a bit lost

Could just be some recessive genetics, I just wouldn't use that one for breeding.

Hi!

Cute chicks!

I get white feet and beaks from paints. They usually grow that out though.

I see no paints in your beautiful flock though. Have you ever had any?

Otherwise, do you know the parents of your adult birds? One of them may have had white feet. You might have to do selective breeding to determine who is the one passing those.
