White silkies

in my opinin silkies are the best chicken for early farmers or kids they have very docile behavor and are not a heavy breed so its easy pickup and can hold longer than heavery breed before your arm gives out

haha. they are a easy breed to show cause they light calm and docile and can get high numbers. but waiting for the judge to get to you can be boring

. but when you when you are like

. I highiy suggest silkies for any person or kid.

I have silkies for the first time, getting them because of all the wonderful things Ive heard about them.

Now, they are absolutely the most precious fluff balls, but I just can Not get near mine without them just freaking out and running and huddling in a corner.

I have 4 along with 2 bantam mottled cochins and 1 Millie, so I dont know if having several have made them so skittish or what, but my cochins are nothing like that as they fly up to my shoulder from the ground ...the millie is starting to come around, but OMG, just even taking a step causes upheaval..lol

They are just starting to eat out of my hand, tho, so thats good news.

They are 14 weeks now and all seem to be hens.

Since I got the little fluffy butts at age 2 days, Ive tried to handle them and cuddle.

Maybe they will calm down in short time because I would love to just pet them..

I agree that they are very gentle and great beginner chickens..

I have 2 white silkies and one blue, the whites are small and a little skidish, my blue 2 year old is a flake, she is bossy, rude, and has been mean from the second I brought her home when I took her out of the box she artsier my hand, she tries to be mean to the other girls twice her size, however, her Lois are breath taking except after she is a mess of herself after going brooch and sitting on an empty meet for 3 monthsYES 3 MONTHS OY
