Hello,
I have a chicken who is moulting, but I’ve just noticed this poop dangle and her poop is white at the moment. Do I cut this off? Is she sick? She’s acting fine and eating ok. See photos.
Thank you!!

That is urates (uric acids) or urine mixed with poop. They can become hard when stuck. Trim carefully and wash off with warm water and a little soap. Droppings stuck to the vent can attract flies that lay maggot eggs, and that can be very dangerous. The chicken has had a bit of diarrhea, which they can do when drinking more water than usual. Does she act sick or lethargic? Is she eating and drinking.

Thank you. Acting normal and active. I just saw this today. Yesterday it was not there. She is moulting so a little slower. Not laid an egg in 4-5 days now.
