I almost added that they aren't a very common breed, really neat looking chickens though.

I'm sure you've already looked, but some breeds have clubs that you can join and they'll have good information on their website. Or find a breeder or group page on facebook?

I did speak to a show breeder about them and he evaluated them for me a bit. But I really need the standard to compare to. It’s been almost 2 weeks since I ordered it. And that thing was expensive

I hear you on that one! They aren't cheap! I have an older one that I'm hoping isn't leading me astray I may need to upgrade some day.

I think the changes are pretty minor, and as long as you aren’t working with some new variety or newly accepted breed you should be good. I do know the newest edition just came out a couple months ago though
