I have my first goslings. They are American Buff mamma and a Toulouse type pappa. There are 4 of them, dirty gray-ish brown backs and heads and lighter undersides, one might be a wee more brown than gray. The two littlest ones, one has the very tips of its feet white toes, the other has half of its feet white toes. No where I can find does anyone mention white toes. The rest of the feet are kinda dirty looking, and their bills are blackish. No pictures yet, they're still getting their legs under them and I want them to be steady before taking them out of the nest area. Pappa Toulouse has white flight feathers on one wing and his back below that wing doesn't have gray on that side, while the side with the gray flight feathers has gray on the side back as well. Perhaps he is a pied or mismarked? Do purebred Toulouse have white splotches? He's a mean sort about these babies. He doesn't want anyone near them and will attack and latch on, something he normally won't do. I think he'll be a protective father but I'm a little concerned that he might not let them out of the nest area, but I think he'll be fine.
