White wash and scaley leg mites??

I am thinking about white washing the coop and was wondering if I can dip the hens feet in this for mites?? newbie and curious.

No, you don't want to use that on their legs/feet. It has lime in it and I have no idea if it's high enough concentration to harm them (lime can really hurt when it gets on people skin.. down here, people put lime on roadkill to keep it from smelling and it basically dissolves/eats away at the carcass so it can't be that good on live animals, even if it's a very dilute mixture).

You want something like vaseline or some non-toxic oil-based product (some folks swear by cooking spray) that will smother the mites on their legs/feet.
