In the Brooder
Hi,
We have been raising our flock for a year and 2 months. (march 2018 we bought a chicks) we ended up having a rooster in our 13 chick collection, and happily accepted him. Unfortunately, for about 2 weeks now, we had to remove him from our flock and home since he was attacking our very young children.
I have read that our chickens can still lay fertilized eggs up to 4 weeks. I'm not sure if that is 100% but we noticed white circles of different sizes in the yolks of freshly cracked open eggs and were told it was the result if fertilized eggs, but never noticed when we hard boiled them
. Well, today I boiled eggs for sandwiches, and noticed all these white spots, some gooey, some the same constancy of the boild yolk. This is the first time I noticed. What is it? Is it safe to consume? Is it from my flock being ill? Please help
