Who all is having corn beef and cabbage for New Years Day?

Are you having the traditional corn beef and cabbage for New Years Day?

Where is that traditional? Blackeyed peas and cornbread and collard greens is traditional here. Gee, I don't think I've ever had corned beef.

New Years is blackeyed peas (for luck) and collard greens (to bring in $$$).

On the corned beef... donno why, maybe I've just not had a good one yet, but I don't care for it.

LOVE cabbage though... but I'm in the minority...

Black Eyed Peas are typically eaten at some point on another... good luck and all...

But mostly I'm eyeballing the waffle maker (the flippy kind) that we got for Christmas... mmmm waffles....

I had to work last night, but we had a dish made with black-eyed peas, rice, and ham. It was delicious! Very filling, too. Incidentally (very possibly because I requested it) someone brought in a homemade, dutch apple pie and vanilla ice cream. Yum!
