Hello! I'm PippinTheChicken, just call me Pippin or Pips
Please visit my flock.
I started with chickens when I got 2 silkie hens in September 2020. But before that, I always loved birds, specifically poultry, so I already knew quite a lot. I joined BYC to use my knowledge of chickens to help others, and to make sure my knowledge was only growing!
In less than a year, I ended up with 10 (well now 9) chickens and an incurable case of Obsessive Chicken Disorder (OCD).
In my flock, friendly is EVERYTHING! So I mainly like to go for ornamental breeds with good temperaments.
I love everything about raising chickens and I love how each chicken has a different personality. I really enjoy raising chickens because it feels really rewarding to watch them grow, knowing that you are giving them the best life they could ever have. The fact that your life has a purpose to care for these birds and make them happy. I love to learn about birds and having chickens makes learning about birds much easier. my favourite part, though, has to be lap naps- watching a sleepy chicken, happy and comfortable, on my lap makes me feel happier than I could ever be!
I love all animals and also own a beagle and 2 Russian tortoises. My dream is to have a mini farm, where I can have all the chickens I want, and goats, cows and pigs! Don't forget Alpacas!!!
I have a sister on BYC (KentuckyFriedChicken), though she isn't chicken crazy like me.

Hello, people call me Spot. In case you couldn’t work it out I love cats! I have 4 indoor cats (Thea, Minou, Pudding and koji) I also have an ever changing amount of coturnix quail, mice, african soft fur rats and guinea pigs as well as 1 dog (Lulu), 7 rabbits and 7 chicken chicks. I breed and show guinea pigs (Long hairs and Rex) and just breed coturnix quail, mice and african soft fur rats. I restore old hand crank sewing machines and want to get into dryland mushing (dog sledding type of thing) I also do quite a few different crafts, my favourites being spinning, lace making, sewing and drawing (Does drawing count as a craft?)
Oh, and I really like sheep, minks and rats

Hello, I am Sandy (I also go by Samm). I am mama to 2 golden retrievers, 2 canaries, one parakeet and one spoiled-rotten, umbrella cockatoo. And now ~ 6 beautiful RIR chickens! They are 2 months old.

I am the mother of 3 grown sons, and the grandma of one, very precious, special-needs grandson.

I am a tole-painter and a glass artist (fused and mosaic) I'm currently working on designs for new ornaments, to mirror my latest obsession... Chickens, of course!

I enjoy gardening and our little cabin in the woods, during the summer months. I'm not a fan of winter, so spend those long months cutting glass
