I don't like them either. I did the brunch thing, bacon, eggs from my girls, grits with cheese in them and homemade biscuits.

Ok, that is twice you intrigued me today.
What does the coke do? Do you just plop the ham in the crock pot and pour a can of coke over it?
Do tell!

All you do is put ham in crock pot and pour a can of Coke over it. The coke makes it so tender it falls off the bone and the taste is mmm mmmm good.

Oh the coke thing is yummy!! I do that same thing with pork roast, chicken, beef, what ever meat I decide to throw in the crock pot. Makes it yummy and tender. I even put some green olives and canned tomatoes and green chilies. It is soo good.

Hey, I never heard of having black-eye peas for New Years.
We eat lentils for good luck on New Years day.

Now I'm going to start putting together a menu for next New Years:
Black Eye peas
Lentil soup
Collard Greens
Pork
Cabbage
and
Chocolate for dessert (OK, not traditional, but you can't go wrong with chocolate!)

Oh, and I'll make sure we burn a bayberry candle too!

The breakfast cake is a simple butter cake recipe you can adapt for you needs.

1 egg (gee where do you get that?)
1 cup of sugar
1 cup of butter (two sticks)
2 cups of flour.

Very heavy dough, put in one round cake pan or square or bread pan etc.
Mix it together and bake at 375 for 30 mins.

You can add flavoring, or spoon jam on top before you bake or on the plate.

It's VERY concentrated,, eat small portions!
For sugar free substitute the 1 cup of sugar with 1 cup of Splenda for baking. '

I'll try and simplify the Fry Bread for you and get it on here.
