Who else is setting... I wanna see pics!

When you say "pigeon-toed" do you mean his feet are closer together than his hips, or that the feet turn inward?
It could be a hip problem. I'd give it a while. Hopefully it was just a little crooked in the shell.

The feet are turned in, like it's trying to walk on the outside of it's ankles. I'll take a pic later tonight when the kids are in bed... that's when most things get done without being immediately undun!

It of course already has a name and 4 admirers so I'm willing to tape away!

When we have made boots for crooked toes it just consists of a piece of cardboard on the bottom of the feet and then some kind of tape over the top and around. If you catch it on the first day it usually only takes a day or two to fix. The longer you wait the longer it takes to fix. I'm not sure what to do for pigeon toes though.

oh, it's so exciting to see you gals hatching! i go on lockdown Monday. Do you start around the same time you set the eggs in the bator the first day? if so it will be 7:00pm for me. I got the heat lamp and brooder, waterer, feeder, all set last week...lol ( a little early i know, but at least I won't be rushing around trying to get things in order last minute). the chicken coop was finished yeasterday, now all i need is to put a small "yard" around the coop, have the fence and everything, just gotta get myself out there to do it. Getting chick starter feed tomorrow and a big barrel with a tight lid and i'm all set! Oh, hope I didn't forget anything

and if so one of you will let me know right

Upon closer inspection, one side is normal (hip and foot) the other side is not (hip and foot). At the hip the leg goes out instead of down and the foot itself is bend inwards.... any thoughts?

Since it's a quail these are VERY little feet! I don't have vet tape could I use cheap scotch tape or not since it doesn't breathe?

The other 2 quail chicks are in the brooder and doing great. They are sure fast for being this young! What a joy to watch

I had better get going on the quail coop!

I've seen threads where people posted pics of boots make from duct tape, so I think cheap scotch would work well for quail.
You may want to make him a boot for the crooked foot and brace his legs together. (Do you have one of those tiny band-aids?)
If it's a leg problem, the boot alone may not help.

The healthy chicks are doing great... (y dwell on the leg guy the whole time right?) I am amazed at how quickly they are zipping around!. I've seen them both eat and drink so they are good that way. I hope to have another 2 hatch tommorrow. There are 3 eggs left but I have 6 MaransAcauanas that go into the 'lock down' tomorrow... make room for chickens!

Ok...Candled tonight again to get ready for the big day. Out of a full bator I had 11 not good. So 30 left that look go in the bator. The bator had my eggs n Ma's. Her batch had 8eggs not good rest mine. So we'll see what I end up with now that the bad apples are out.
