They have it right - Great Pyrenees Dogs. I own one. I found two filthy, matted and flea dominated ones last week.
Pyr rescue is paying for their veterinary care while I foster them and pyr rescue finds them adopters.
Yeah two - just to get them clean was about 3.5 hours. The older one probably 3 or four years old and never bathed, the younger around a year and never bathed. Ugh. They are nearly clean, mostly mat free and ready for me to leave them alone now. LOL. Not true, the younger one kept throwing herself in my lap while I held the brush and would sit there, but I got sick of the goats butting in wanting to be brushed too.
And yes a good Pyr is an awesome dog. But they're independent thinkers and I love that. Not everyone is ... quite as comfortable as I am with it. It's more cooperation and partnership than the usual dog/owner thing. Both girls are emaciated, so they have to gain before they can be spayed and placed. Both have ear infections. Both have worms... sigh. Treatment for all of the above commencing LOL.
Fortunately I'm an ex-dog groomer among my other skills.
