Well, I set a timer on my phone for the hatch date as soon as I put the eggs in the bator. Been looking after the temp and humidity regularly, but somehow got it in my head that when I hear the timer, it's time for lockdown. Haven't touched the bator in exactly 3 days, expecting to go into lockdown tomorrow. I left my LED light in that room when I last candled and needed it a lil bit ago. You can imagine my surprise when I get back there and see three dry chicks, riding the turner like a hammock. I was sitting on my hands and didn't even know it! My accidental lockdown is doing great so far. lol

It was low for lock down. It stayed around 45%. Chicks are doing great though.

Most chicks will hatch just fine at 45% humidity but the key is you didn't open the door! I use a GQF and a Dickey's bator but I have seen some others with a LG type turner crushing the babies that were left in the ON turner to hatch. It can be easy to loose track of the hatch day or have the babise hatch a few days early du to heat a bit too high or the hen may have sat the egg for a few days.

That is so funny. Congratulations. Hope all continues to go well. And that is Literally sitting on your hands.
