Who got in?

I walked up to the coup to find feathers everywhere. All chickens are present but something dug underneath the coup and I assume got in. I suspect some eggs missing, the feathers belonged to Me Rooster. I gate was open too! What could this have been?

Do you have a photo of the dig area? If no chickens were harmed, I’d suspect a rat.

Raccoon, unless you have a carabiner or similar on the latch they can open it.

Possum? Since it didn't eat the chickens, but went after the eggs? I know possum sometimes do eat chickens though. I'm so glad they didn't get your chickens. Remember though once they have found a food source they will come back!

Do you have a wire apron buried around your cage? If so how far does it extend from the cage?

So far no dead chickens, but that will change very soon! Hope they are okay this morning, because any of the critters who invaded will kill chickens, and it's an entry point for others too.

Yes it was tied with a rope but just a simple knot!

Well today there was an area where something small dug under and I noticed a lot of rat droppings in the area where they sleep. This is the first time I've seen that and don't know how I could possible stop them.
