Who has a 4200 Farm Innovator incubator?

Hello,
I purchased a Farm Innovators incubator recently (model 2200).  I've been running it for the past 2 days at 99.5F & 41% humidity - per the loose thermometer included with the purchase & the humidity reader on top of the incubator.  Are these readings bad?  I really don't want to have to make more purchases; do I need to buy a new thermostat & humidity reader or will my 1st hatch be messed up if I rely on the above readings?

Thank you!!

Most likely your readings are off. The humidity isn't that critical unless it's really high and it can be monitored with candling and noting the size of the air cell. The temperature is the most important and that little thermometer is garbage. I got a cheap hygrometer for a lizard cage and a 3 dollar thermometer from the housewares section of a farm store that works good. I don't trust digital thermometers

Thanks for replying!

I did as everyone has suggested - got a new thermometer & humidity reader. Went to PetSmart in the reptile dept. and found one unit with both readers. (not digital) A digital one is easier to read but more expensive. This one looks easy enough to read and I liked the looks of it. Also, it will fit nicely in my incubator window area for easy reading.

Thanks again.

Right now I'm just trying to get the temp/humidity right and letting the incubator run. I have the reader on the egg turner where the eggs will be laying.

The temp on the new reader is the same as the temp on the thermometer that came with the incubator. However, the humidity reader is about 20 digits lower. Right now it is reading 19% which is too low, correct?

This is stressing me out a bit, I thought it'd be easy (just plug it in and go!)

My hydrometer I bought reads 40% and the one connected to the unit reads 50%. I go by the one I bought from Petco. I have all 3 wells filled to get 40%. I live in AZ and the humidity is about 13%. My eggs have moving chicks and nice air cells at day 11 so I think I'm doing ok. I've just candled random eggs. I need to candle and mark them all at some point.

I have the same incubator and I bought a thermometer ($10) and hydrometer ($5) at PETCO reptile section, I have no clue if they're accurate but there's a definite difference, about 10° in the hydrometer and 2-5° in the thermometer. I go by the reptile ones, I hope they are accurate. Its my first hatch, I set them 4-6

Yep mine is the exact same way, I don't even look at the dials on the bator itself, I have a hydrometer and two thermometers in the bator.

I wouldn't worry about the humidity just get the temp stable. The humidity should come up when you add eggs. Then I'd leave it stabilize for a good day let the temp come back up and see what the humidity is at then you can judge whether or not you need to add water

Okay, thank you!!!!!

I've noticed the screen is up on the corners and the eggs roll around. Any suggestions on how to secure it?
