I am thinking about buying a DS lite so thought I would ask you guys if you had one and what you think of them... All posts will help!

My 19 year old bought a DSi when they first came out. She likes it a lot. My 15 year old has had a DS lite for awhile. She also likes hers. They fight over the games. Neither one of them is a kid that plays them all the time though. Only when the weather is nasty out and they have nothing else to do - which is rare for the 19 year old.

one of my sons has a ds lite, and one has a dsi. The one with the ds lite wishes he had a dsi. It seems you can do a lot more with the dsi than the ds lite. The ds lite was perfect for both of them until the dsi came out. If I was going to get one now, I would spend the little extra and get the dsi.

i have had a ds Lite and dsi , i like the DS lite better. but there are also some good thing's about the DSI but there are some things that take a while to get used to

DD#1 has a DSi and LOVES it. She plays with the camera feature all the time and decorates the pictures or distorts them for a laugh. I'm not a gamer, but she really enjoys it.

DSi will not play Gameboy advance games but DS and DS Lite will.

We have a DS, and it's pretty fun to play with. We've also found quite a few good games at the used game store for pretty cheap.

I would say that it is definitely better then the game boy. i have a DS lite but i have heard that the DSi is much better aside from the fact that the DSI has 14 hours of power compared to the 19 hours for the DS lite and It can not play game boy games. So if you want advice,It,s up to you. if you want "cool" features take the DSi, but if you want game power and availability I would recommend the DS lite. its up to you.

I would think that it depends on the age of the person you are buying it for. My 9 year old son got a DS Lite to replace his failing Gameboy. He can still play all of his Gameboy games on the Lite, but they CAN NOT be played on the DSI. If an older child or even adult is the one getting the game system, they may like the SD card slot for listening to music and seeing pics. We had the choice between DS lite and DSI, and we got the Lite just for the ability to play Gameboy games.

ETA: I am from the Atari age and I play my son's games alot of the time. It is fun for someone my age too (I'm 30 something).
