Who has chicken and ducks living together???

Same in my experience. Everytime the chickens get a chance they come eat the food left out for the ducks. I doubt the ducks would not eat the chicken's food either if I set it next to it.

That's is why all my birds eat the same feed except when I have ducklings and chicks, they eat starter but so does mama. I have fed starter to all my birds when I have babies too. But when they are laying age they all get layer and 6 way grains. All my flock is together so No way to separate so chickens have one food water fowl another. I just feed a NON GMO feed add nutritional yeast to it for the niacin.

I feed the ducks in their own pens, which are inside the big yard they share with the chickens.
I just rescued a teenage hen and drake. I introduced them to my birds who pretty much ignored them. I have one female goose who is pretty good girl. All of a sudden the drake rammed her. She did not react. They were fine beside that. I was surprised as the goose is four times his size. I hav no clue how big they will get. They were neglected and shivering when I got the two ducks. Super hungry too. I think they are doing good. I have them in a medium fenced off area hanging out with my senior rooster who was living by himself. He’s great with them. My run isn’t huge but adequate. I guess I have to put a pen in there for the ducks. The yard they are in now has no protection from aerial predators. But I am pretty close to it most of the day. The ducks usually run from me when I bring them in late afternoon. But a hawk was in the tree about 50 yds away day two that I had them and they RAN toward me. First couple of days they were stiff and walking funny as they spent much time in a small crate. So glad I saved them. They walk so much better and it’s only been since Saturday. It’s such a learning curve with them. I give them layer food mix with some high end bird food and cracked corn. They drink So much water too. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I have 14 female ducks living with two hens , they share the yard, but have their own sleeping houses. I feed them Nutrena All Flock pellets , with crushed oyster shells on the side. And also.Mazuri Waterfowl feed that I sprinkle in the water buckets. Twice a day ,For the ducks, because it floats and it’s awesome for ducks (but it’s not that great for chickens. ) i’ve had the ducks for seven years and only got the two chickens last summer, it took about two months for them to except each other. They’re not best friends, but they tolerate. I kept them separated with a fence the first couple of weeks.

Oh, I forgot to add that I give my ducks lots and lots of hiding places in the yard it’s a 3000 ft.² pen, but they are never more than 5 feet away from a hiding place such as picnic table chair, potted, trees, bushes, children’s play, houses, children’s place slides other children’s play equipment, etc. and big patio umbrellas over their kiddy pools, also, ducks differ from chickens in that they need water deep enough to dunk their whole head into … to clean out the holes in their bill, and their eyes. They don’t have to have swimming pools, but they need buckets and their life would be depressing without ever swimming.

What breed are the ducks? My ducks, chickens, and goose all live together. They aren't in a run though they have fenced property they forage and hang out in during the day so plenty of space to stay away from a bully.

I hope the 2 rescues settle in and enjoy their new home. Bless you for taking them.
