I have a question and maybe you guys can help me with it. Do khaki Campbell's need a drake to produce eggs of do that do it all on their own? New owner to two female khakis thanks in advance

No, no domestic poultry need a male to lay eggs. If anything, having a ratio of only one drake to two female ducks would cut egg laying because the overbreeding will stress out -not to mention potentially injure- your girls.

No Dear, just like human and other females they produce eggs with and without male company. They do however require male "companionship" to produce fertile eggs for reproduction.

I have had my KC for over a year now- they are fantastic! They don't eat much, and lay extremely well. I usually get 5+ eggs a week from them. They also started laying at around 18-22 weeks old, going into the fall too!

I gave myself 4 KCs as a Christmas 2014 present. I was told they are three females and one drake and that they were 4 mos old. One month later, no sign of a tail feather on anyone. Two are quacking and all do a lot of mumbling. They are hilarious. I spend way too much time watching their antics. They love being sprayed with the hose and swimming in their pool. They are worth the investment if only for the entertainment value.

Well as this past week it is official. All girls no drake. Four eggs a day and everybody quack-quack-quack-quack-quacking. Now I am looking for a KC drake. If anyone has a drake that needs a good home in Southern Calif please let me know. Thank you. DB

I'm looking forward to my hatch day of Khaki's, They are due the 13th, they might end up being possessed though being on a Friday!

I set 16 eggs and all of them were fertile at day 7 we'll see how many make it.

Hi Invision, Good luck with your hatch. I have only female KCs who all lay an egg a day. I sent away for 20 fertile eggs which I will use in .this year's Backyard Chickens Easter HAL. I hope to keep at least one drake.
