Who has light/nightlight in coop?

This is what I found when I went out to check on them tonight. I may need to rethink the Christmas lights for lighting idea.

Now that's pretty funny! One of those Flying Wallenda chickens I'd think!

I absolutely love the christmas light idea. Going to find some and hang it in my coop also - kind of gives it a nice ambiance - ho, ho, ho.

I just posted about this subject last week. I live pretty rural and we don't have street lights at the road, they are brought back to the side of our house. This lights up the run of my chicken coop, making the coop itself look really dark. Without a light my chickens will not go into the coop. I wind up throwing them in through the pop door and they all stack on top of each other AT the door.

So I was shopping at Goodwill and found strands of Christmas lights. I put them up today and tonight they all went in on their own. I have a camera inside the the left half of my coop and I'm watching them. Not only did they go in, but a few are roosting, where they always huddled together on the floor before. I have a wire wall dividing my younger chicks from the older, and found out tonight that some of them are roosting ON TOP OF THE WALL!

Chickens on the lights was hilarious!!! Thankfully mine now go in and roost in the coop at night!!!! I finally got a timer and as long as the light is on before dark they go all the way in!!!! Yay!!!

You'll have to set up a proper high wire for little Miss Wallenda if you move the lights though. And good the lights worked for you bamafan87

I use a 15watt cfl blub uses little to no power and is plenty of light to get them in at dark.
