OK, I'm sure that wasn't meant to be funny....but was her name Lucky? My God....how Horrible! Poor thing.
Mine oldest isn't even a year yet....Caroline will live to be like 19 is my guess...hope to see you all in 18 yrs to see if I'm right

I have too old gals. One hen (SL Wyandotte in my avatar) will be 10 this spring and the other (EE) is at least that age, possibly a year or two older. They live in the "retirement" room in my coop where they go about their business without being bothered by the younger birds. The SL hen, named Lotty after the gossipy old lady who lives down the road because she is always clucking, actually laid an egg two days ago when it was ten below.... what a hen! She really only lays once in a while though while Judy, the EE lays regularly in the spring.
