Who here is into Photography?

Sorry that I haven't been on for awhile. I just wanted to let everybody know what beautiful pics that you guys have been posting. I haven't been able to get out to get any pics for a long while now but last Friday I decided to dump what I was doing and run away to the lake for a bit. Here are a few pics that I was able to get.

Wow! What awesome pics everyone! Great shots OldChick! LilRed I love the clouds and the buffalo! Peewee, nice to see you around (course I've been scarce too), great pics as always, but what in the world is the last one? I'm guessing a spider, but I've never seen anything like that before! Here are a couple of mine from the past couple of weeks.

Thanks guys! I really needed to get out and get my head out of where it has been for awhile now and I was so happy that I actually saw some birds at the lake. The time of day that I went, there usually is not to many to be seen. That little thing in the last pic. would be what we call around here a Crab Spider but I think they are better known as a Thorn Spider. They come in all different colors but I only saw the red and white ones that day. Great pics dkvart! I really want to get some good shots of the blue herons myself but they always seem to know when I have my camera with me. Not a heron to be seen when I have it with me but if for some reason I don't have it with me they seem to flock around all over.

Red, I forgot to mention, I love your chicken pics. Especially the ones in the baskets, too cute!

Kass, LOVE the okra blossoms, great pics!

Peewee I know what you mean about the herons... was lucky to catch him....we went for a boat ride and came around the bend and there he was... he stood like that while we turned around and came back, a little closer to shore and I finally got a 1/2 way decent pic! I've taken a lot of photos (all from the boat, which makes it a real challenge to get within shooting range without them flying off) and have plenty of "fair" ones, but nothing spectacular. There's one that hangs out in the creek by the mouth of the river, in my neighbors yard, but I have no way to sneak up on him and he's very shy.... maybe next year I'll have better luck, and hopefully a lens with a little better range! Need to do some research there, not sure what I need but the 55-200 is only so good...

The thorn spider is awesome, I've never seen one, thanks for sharing that!

We have those little crab spiders. The kids call them M&M spiders because of all the colors they come in, red, blue, green, yellow, white, orange. They are cool

That's no fair, we aren't that far from you and we don't have them at all!!!! You guys "shared" your nasty fire ants, but not the cool spiders!!!

Kassaundra, love the pics of the of the Okra blooms and of course I love the pics of the insects!

Today was the first day that I hasn't rained in three days (rain started right after I left the lake Friday and just quit early this a.m.). I was able to get some pics of some of the hungry little critters in the back yard.
