Who here is into Photography?

I love old steam trains. That's a wonderful old engine. I live very close to the O. Winston Link museum. Here's a link to a collection of his beautiful photography:

Winston Link did photography for the Norfolk Western railway in the 1950's. An engineer by trade, Mr Link built his own lighting set-ups and specialized in night photography. I can spend hours at that museum and every time I go I find something new.

That steamer was new in 1896, used by the Souther Pacific. The city of Grapevine now owns it and runs a tourist train with Pullman heavyweights to the Ft Worth stockyards. That pic was taken as it was ready to roll of the turntable in FW.

I love anything railroad, I am even working on closing out my garage to build a layout.

Thanks for that wonderful link! He took some great shots of the Pennsy RR as well. My greatgrandfather worked forthe PRR in 1923, after returning home from WWI.

Did these last week...

I love that first building. That facade is really interesting. Wouldn't it be nice if was given a new lease on life and turned into an arts center or something like that. Cool picture.

Thanks!

If only the whole town could get a new lease on life. Almost every building in Cairo is either abandoned, or about to fall down. It is sad.

Here are some other photos taken in the same town.

Enjoy,

This is a perfect example of almost all the buildings in Cairo:

Wow, those buildings are gorgeous. It really is a shame they can't revamp the entire town. Very cool architecture (and photos!).

Hey photographers!

I wanted to pass on a great deal to everyone. Photovision is an annual subscription and its basically a bi-monthly seminar on DVD. They feature some of my favorite photographers each month, and each DVD is a seminar/photography lesson that you can watch in your own home. Its usually $149, but they are having a 'fan' push this month, and you can get all of 2010 for $39!

I just signed up, and I ended up buying 2009 as well because my favorite photographer Jen Hillenga is featured in it! Its an awesome deal if you want to improve your photography!

Check it out!

Special on PhotoVision! Its THE best video resource out there 4 photographers. Use promo code PVFAN to get over $100 off! http://ow.ly/2lczU
