Who here is into Photography?

Wow, the water above Fayette Station looks so smooth and glassy! I usually kayak the New River Gorge each Labor Day Weekend. About 1/4 to 1/2 a mile upstream from the bridge where you took the picture, when the two bridges come into view, you actually cannot visually tell which bridge is closer-the big one or the little one. It's a weird optical illusion. Your photo is so beautiful and peaceful. At that point, I'm usually not paying as much attention to the scenery as I am lining up towards the right side of the river to catch those massive waves at Fayette Station. It's not the hardest rapid but if it wasn't at the end of the run, they'd probably make me seasick with their size. I'd say Middle Keeney messes the most people up at low summer levels, but Lower Keeney is the most intimidating looking. Have you been there? I'm pretty sure you can hike in.

Do you have any photos of the "Dries" below? I've only seen photos of it with water in it, when the boaters go. Otherwise, all the water is diverted into the tunnel. I've just never gone down that far.

Also, where is that beautiful creek with the water wheel? Does it still run? That, more than any lush tropical island or fabuolous mansion, is the place on earth I'd like to live more than any other.

Hey Parrotchick, please keep an eye out for my peafowl pair

I let them freerange for the last two days and woke up this morning to a couple fluffs of feathers in the field. Im hoping they got away and took off. The only think big enough to get them would be a dog or a fox... more a dog.. they were pretty big. And, a dog would just leave the body so, Im hopeful because I haven't found them that they are still together and wandering.

Oh Erin, I'm so sorry to hear that! Have you been out driving around looking? I can go with you and be another set of eyes. I can ask my boyfriend to bring me his really nice binoculars-he's coming over this evening and I'm free tomorrow. I'll put the word out to my Sharpsburg friends and my friend the wildlife rehabber in Rohrersville. Good luck and hopefully they're just took a fright and went for a stroll. I put up a cheap welded wire and green metal post fence as as stopgap measure to keep my birds contained while they freerange. They turkeys and the Polishes like to jump on the other side of it because of course the grass is greener, but they don't go far. When I saw an unfamiliar stray dog running around I was scrambling to user the outsiders in but fortunately the dog didn't seem interested anyway.

PC, thanks so much...we've been out most of the day. I got a call from a friend downtown and she said the peacock was in her neighbor's backyard

I was so happy that I cried. But, was quickly saddened when I didn't see his mate with him... We have half the town on alert and I do appreciate spreading the word. Im making flyers now.

I hope you find your bird, Msbear.

Gonna apologize in advance for lots of pictures... It's a good several months worth of repressed photo sharing.
Been busy lately, so I haven't really had any time to get on. Thought I should mention, though, that everyone's shots are AWESOME! The buildings and the motion shots really caught my eye.

So, I was at the rodeo and forgot about my hat. Whoops. Needless to say, my first 20 shots had no flash. Nonetheless, this one came out kind of cool, if a bit dark. Does anyone know some way to edit it that I might make it less grainy?

Then while the men moved the coop, I played with the girls.
Why hello there, Ginger.

Hi Cleo!

Is it edible? I think it's edible. You try it first, though.

And I think my horse might have secretly gotten a job at the Life is Good company as a model when I wasn't looking.

What do y'all think? Any similarities?

I don't really like my rodeo shots. I think I'll just leave it to the professionals next time.
