In the Brooder
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? - Not really new - I had a great flock a few years ago.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? 8 Rhode Island Red hens, 1 Astralorp Hen, 1 Leghorn Rooster.
(3) What breeds do you have? LOL -- see above.
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com? I was doing a search on chicken breeds
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Animals. Rescue.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. Hmm. In order of the questions -- I have a 30 year old son who has given me my amazing grandson who is now 5. My daughter is about to turn 22 and is taking a 2nd senior year at Alfred University here in Western NY as a Biology major so she can work on her research project. She was given a grant and a publishing possibility. (yup I'm bragging
) so she took a second senior year. She will be applying to Cornell University of Veterinary Medicine.
I also have 2 German Shepherds, & a Jack Russel mix. All rescues.
I have a BS in Human Services and Psych and I am currently a victim services advocate.
We have a small 5 acre farm.
