I have read all the books 10+ times. The first one came out when I was 11. OOOhhhhh how I wished to be a wizard lol. I kind of feel like I grew up with Harry and the crew.
The movies are meh. As far as epic fantasy series go, the books are good because they are so accessible and really most humans can enjoy them. Not so for most fantasy genre. However, what the books have in accessibility they kind of lack in depth of universe. Compared to any of the other epic fantasy saga, ie lord of the rings or the dark tower, there is much to be desired by true fans as to the deep lore of the HP world.

Favorite book is prisoner of Azkaban, though I did really enjoy Order of the Phoenix. My favorite character is Buckbeak, though Serious and Lupin aren't far behind.
