who is good with computers

It is unclickable if you don't click whatever speaker is available first. Is there a speaker to click so it is highlighted?

Anyway, it says it isn't plugged in, which is odd, because you said it is a set of built in speakers. This is a laptop, right? Desktop towers rarely have speakers, and it would be super easy to check if the wiring had come undone there, or if it was speakers build into a desktop monitor, just check the sound cable.

no this is not a lap top it is a normal computer it is a windows 7

Make sense? If you see a little X or sign like on the example on the LEFT, you have muted your sound. If yours looks like the example on the RIGHT, your sound setting is on.

there is no x so they are on

power it down and wait about a hour or two and turn it back on

i did that last night and that did not work
