I raised just about any kind of poultry but Chukars.

There is some facts about Chukars I can't find in the books or web.

1. What is the size of their eggs? My guess about true bantams eggs correct?

2. At what age they start laying?

3. Do they lay 50 or more eggs per season?

4. Which month they start laying and which month they quit under natural conditions (without extra lights and/or climate controlled environment).

5. What is the adult weigh? Male Female

6. How many months to market (meat for consumption)?

7. How long they live, how long they are productive layers.

8. How many females per male for good fertility.

I'd appreciate an answer from somebody who has raised or raising them.

Please answer only if you had or have working experience growing them.

Make sure you invest in the anti-pick devices. They are brutal canibals. I raised them for a while but realized that they weren't worth the effort compared to other poultry that I have worked with.

1- Just a tad smaller than bantam eggs
2- Chukars will lay at 5 months old
3-75-100 is about average unless they are lighted
4- April-August
5- 18-20 oz
6-16 weeks
7- 7 years average, after third year egg production declines
8- 5 to 1
