This is my free rare chick from McMurry. It is the gray one in the center. What is it?

I have no idea.. It's legs are blue like an americauna.. it has blue colouring like an adlalusian.. it doesn't have feathers on its legs does it?

Blue Andalusian maybe? I looked at their video of those chicks and maybe? Not sure since I am not familliar with the breed.

I'd guess it's a blue or splash andie. I got my gorgeous splash andie as a rare and exotic from MacMurray one year. Beautiful but not incredibly friendly chickens.

They don't list those as one of their "rare breeds" and the chick really doesn't look like an EE. No muffs and slate legs instead of willow.

Ah, but they do (or HAVE in the past) sent EEs as the rare and exotic chick. Now I haven't ordered from MM in a couple of years since I started hatching my own so they may have changed their policy.

Yeah, but there have been a lot of people who get EEs and other not rare breeds as their free chick.

Oh I understand that EE's are not rare at all

it's just usually if you go to the hatchery web site they list what they consider "rare" and McMurray doesn't list their "Americana's" as rare.
