I was surprised by an egg this morning. At first I thought it was my new black Australorp, but it seems a little dark. Now, I'm wondering whether it was one of the molting welsummers FINALLY coming into lay. What do you think?

Sadly, I didn't realize I had the flash on until after I ate the egg for breakfast. It has small dark brown speckles throughout, and actually looks a little darker when it has the flash on it.
I would be so thrilled if one of my welsummers, all of whom I bought at auction two months ago and all of whom immediately started molting, were laying!
